This is an iPad Pro drawing app that requires an Apple Pencil.
The iPad Pro is currently the only device capable of processing fast speeds for tattoo machine simulation, of up to 11.7 volts (120cps). On 7th gen (and newer) iPads and iPad Air, the maximum machine speed is limited to 7.4 volts (60 cps), resulting in slower performance. Other devices will encounter lag issues. It is strongly recommended to use this app only with an iPad or iPad Pro in combination with an Apple Pencil.
TattApp allows users to practice tattooing techniques without the typical mess and risk associated with permanent damage. The app simulates needles moving in and out of a drawing surface at high speed. Needle direction and depth are controlled through the Apple Pencil's azimuth and pressure sensitivity features. Users can select from various needle configurations including liners, rounds, magnums, and soft-edge magnums. The option to choose colors from the Eternal Ink range and blend between them in order to create custom colors is available. Users can also perform corner shading using different sizes of magnum needles, import images as stencil guides, utilize rinse cups, and adjust power supply speed.
In addition, there is a drawing feature where users can import a photo, trace a stencil, and use the photo as a reference to improve their skills in emulating different styles.
TattApp serves as an effective tool for practicing blending, shading, saturating techniques, and building hand speed awareness. It provides a risk-free environment for skill development without the need for real-life experimentation.
